Trekked into the wilds of San Antonio last night to check out some shows happening at Blue Star. Pat Marince and Tyler Rutherford invited us out to take in their latest greatest work. They have a small gallery space that they usually just open up on Sunday afternoons. We highly recommend a visit if you enjoy good photography! There's also a great exhibit up right now at the Blue Star Art Space. There were about 5 artists featured - all contemporary painters - and all were very good. My personal favorite is the work of Seth Alverson. Check out www.bluestarartspace.org for more info!
"Bluebird"Pleasant surprise today when Melanie Fain's smiling face came through the door. She's just home from her last road trip of the year and came by to drop off some of her newest etchings in a great series of songbirds - "Bluebird," "Goldfinch, and "Titmouse." She's the real deal.
We attended a performance of the Boerne Community Theatre's production of "A Christmas Carol" last night. It was an amusing adaptation of the traditional Dickens Christmas tale. Patrick Crowley and his very talented crew did a great job of it! If you are in search of a family activity to put you in the spirit of the holidays, go check out this play! Keep in mind that the last performance is December 17th. . . .
Had a great Friday evening with old and new friends at the gallery. Beall and Sarli from The Duck stopped in and introduced some new folks to the gallery. Jennifer came by to pick up her Versaggi acquisitions and especially admire the new work that painter Jennifer Balkan dropped off last week. After hours, we headed over to The Boerne Grille to meet friends and give a listen to the great music. Thumbs up Stewart!!
December 3rd marks the closing for the show featuring Tatjana Versaggi. It was a great event and we thank "Jana" for the great body of work she shared with us. We would also like to thank all of you who chose to live with her work.
What a fabulous way to segue into the Christmas season. We shall celebrate December with a series of small receptions every Friday evening 5pm to 8pm.
Join us for a little wine and good company, stay with us all evening or use us as a springboard for the "Dickens" festivities on main street. It is the season of good cheer, so let us keep good company while the skies get grayer and the temperature gets colder and our hopes and dreams anticipate the coming of the "New Year".
